Inside the Hive | What’s new to Superhive with Kyle
“When creators succeed, we succeed.”
That’s how Kyle Maurer, our Director of Operations and Product, summed up his team’s mission during our first Inside the Hive conversation. Kyle and I sat down to talk through recent updates to Superhive and why 2025 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for creators on the platform.
Key Takeaways
- Superhive has expanded its dev team, working to ship faster and more often.
- Security was a big focus in 2024, with thousands of attacks blocked.
- New tools for creators include bundles, public coupons, and (soon) self-run sales.
- The dev team now works iteratively, shipping small improvements constantly.
- Creators are invited to pitch bundles and deals directly to the team.
Superhive’s Team Expanded
Superhive, for a long time, was a one-person shop. In 2024, the team expanded to five developers, plus Kyle, enabling a faster pace of updates. Instead of waiting months for fixes, the marketplace is now seeing regular feature releases, understanding that the demand will never decrease.
This shift represents a real investment in the future of Superhive. For creators, it means a platform that evolves alongside their needs, with new tools rolling out steadily, rather than once or twice a year. The pace feels different now: more nimble, more responsive, and more in tune with feedback from the community. 🙏
Keeping Creators Safe through Security Updates (behind-the-scenes stuff) 🔒
Security work isn’t glamorous, but it’s essential. Kyle’s team fended off targeted phishing and spam attacks that hit multiple Blender marketplaces earlier this year. Thanks to new safeguards, over 7,000 malicious messages were blocked, keeping creator accounts and customers safe.
"The only reason your inbox isn’t flooded with spam is because our team has been diligently putting safeguards in place," — Kyle
This behind-the-scenes work matters. Attacks can sap time and confidence from creators who’d rather be building, not recovering from account phishing attempts. By investing in security, the Superhive team is making sure the platform remains a reliable place for creators to earn a living.
[New] Bundles: A Game-Changer for Creators
One of the most exciting features is product bundles. Creators can now team up to offer collections of assets at a discounted price. Customers love them, and creators benefit from more exposure and higher conversion rates.

"If there’s anything we’ve learned in the past 12 months, it’s that customers love bundles. They eat them up," — Kyle
Bundles create opportunities for collaboration. Two creators with complementary products can partner up, offering a more complete package to customers while splitting the rewards fairly. It’s a win-win: customers save money, creators reach new audiences, and the Blender ecosystem grows stronger.

[New] Public Coupons: Deals in the Spotlight
⭐️ Heads up - during the BCON sale the link has been hidden to spotlight the sale. Coupon codes are disabled during site-wide sales for products opted into the sale to avoid stacking discounts. Any active coupons for on sale products will be reinstated when the sale ends.
Launched just this month, public coupons give creators a new way to promote products. Instead of sharing codes privately, coupons can now appear on the Superhive Deals page, making them discoverable to the whole community.

Within 24 hours of launch, more than 50 coupons went live. 🎉
"Customers love deals. We want to give them a reason to keep coming back," — Kyle
For creators, public coupons are another tool in the marketing toolbox. They can spotlight new launches, revive interest in older products, or reward loyal customers with targeted discounts. For buyers, the Deals page becomes a destination, a reason to check in regularly and see what’s new.

[Coming soon] Creator Driven Sales + Promo Features
Looking ahead, creators will soon be able to run their own sales, setting discounts and start/end dates without waiting for a site-wide event. This puts more control in creators’ hands, letting them run promotions when it makes the most sense for their business.
An advertising feature is also in the works, giving creators more ways to put their products in front of customers.
"There are so many creators eager for better marketing tools. We want to give them more ways to grow their businesses," — Kyle
Both tools, self-run sales and advertising, point toward a future where Superhive is not just a place to list products but a platform for creators to actively grow their audience.
Closing Thoughts
Kyle put it best: “Think of us as partners in your success, not just the technical people administering the platform.”
Superhive is growing fast, and the focus is simple: helping Blender creators thrive. If you’ve got ideas for bundles, coupons, or just want to share feedback, the team wants to hear from you. Email Kyle directly at [email protected] or reach out to [email protected].
