  An excellent product that is really easy to install and use. The creator has put a large amount of thought and effort into making this as polished as possible. Great support with an introduction video and install guide, intelligent folder naming, 20 page pdf, a cluster of trees to get you up and going straight away. What more could you ask for? I for one can't wait to see what he makes next!

  Works without the Scatter addon as well. Weights and other controllers can be used to control trees which is a huge plus.

  The only drawback is that Billboard Trees don't cast a proper shadow unless perfectly perpendicular to the sun's direction. This could be solved by a secondary tree on every particle, which is invisible to the camera and all rays except shadow rays. Said trees could be set to a secondary target, like the Z pointing direction of a Sun lamp, or hand-set. It's possible to set this up without any integration as well, just super tedious.

  It works very well, but the layer and weight system is clearly confusing (to much info, the concepts are simple, nothing new, but the implementation is not), it needs to be polished at UI level.

  I agree that the weight layers system is an area that needs some improvement, and that's definitely one of the goals for future updates coming soon! In the meantime, it would be really useful to hear what specifically you don't like about the current implementation, so if you want, feel free to message me about it, and I'll see what I can do :)

  Wasn't easy for me to get it to work, it was very frustrating, I keep getting errors till I installed the older version ! And the creator is not attending to reply any msgs i guess !!

  Hi, I'm sorry for the wait, I was completing my final year university exams recently, and so had less time to devote to the addon.

  That being said, I replied three days after your initial message, with a new version of the addon uploaded which has fixed many issues with the new version. I also asked for clarification of the specific issues you were having so I could better diagnose the issue. I haven't received a reply since then.

  I hope you managed to fix your issue, and that you enjoy using the rest of the addon 👍

  I don't know why this add-on is still listed on Blender Market. The last positive review was 6 months ago, since then multiple customers are reporting that it doesn't work (or even install) with the current version of Blender.

  No response to my inquiries on blenderartists.org since early September, same result here. Why is it even still for sale?

  cannot import name 'get_icon' from partially initialized module 'alpha_trees_lite-2_3_9.icons' (most likely due to a circular import) (/home/user/.config/blender/4.2/scripts/addons/alpha_trees_lite-2_3_9/icons.py)

  Getting the same error all the time. I cannot solve it. Seller does not respond. So Alpha trees is useless for me.
