Blender Auto Focus Camera Addon

Wanderson M. Pimenta in Animation

What is Auto Exposure?
Auto Exposure is a Windows-only tool that measures the rendered camera view and calculates an exposure correction over time. Its primary purpose is to create exposure bakes for animation. It includes controls for target gray, center weighting, response time, metering interval, exposure compensation, and minimum/maximum EV limits.
Why should I bake focus distance?
Bake focus before final rendering, command-line rendering, sharing the project with someone who does not have the addon, or whenever you need the result to be independent of the live Blender interface. Baking creates focus-distance keyframes so the animation can render consistently without relying on the addon running in the viewport.
Does the addon work with Eevee and Cycles?
Yes. Auto Focus Camera’s focus tools can be used with both Eevee and Cycles. For the new Auto Exposure workflow, Eevee is the recommended render engine because it can provide a responsive rendered viewport suitable for fast metering and baking.
Which Blender versions are supported?
The current extension requires Blender 4.2 or newer.
What is Auto Focus Camera?

Auto Focus Camera is a Blender addon that automatically adjusts camera focus based on what is visible in the frame. It helps create natural depth-of-field transitions without manually animating focus distance on every shot.

It also includes Smart Focus controls, focus offsets, focus breathing, focus bounce, keyframe tools, baking tools, and, on Windows, Auto Exposure baking.
