Dogfight Manoeuvre Generator
The Dogfight Manoeuvre Generator is a Blender add-on that creates animated 3D aerial combat sequences between two airplanes. It automates the process of animating complex flight paths, allowing you to generate procedural dogfights directly in the 3D Viewport.
Main Features:
- Generation Modes: Use "Single Mode" to generate one specific flight maneuver, or use "Combo Mode" to chain up to five maneuvers sequentially. In Combo Mode, the add-on automatically calculates the transition bridges and tactical role-swaps between the attacker and defender.
- Included Maneuvers: Choose from 10 standard aerial combat moves, including the Immelmann Turn, Split-S, Pugachev's Cobra, Barrel Roll, High/Low Yo-Yo, Wingover, Lag Displacement Roll, Scissors, and Defensive Break Turn.
- Automated Flight Mechanics: The add-on calculates realistic banking (roll) in corners based on the curvature of the flight path. It also includes an option to simulate variable speed, naturally slowing planes down during vertical climbs and speeding them up during dives.
- Camera Tracking: Includes built-in camera setups (Chase, Static, and Dynamic) that automatically follow the action. The dynamic tracking option switches targets intelligently to follow active role swaps during a combo sequence.
- Visual Effects: Options to enable volumetric wingtip vapor trails, animated missile firing with adjustable timings, and procedural turbulence layers to simulate wind and engine vibrations.
- Customization: You can adjust the frame duration of each move, the length of transitions, and the colors of the planes. The add-on provides procedural stand-in models by default, but it can also detect and use your own custom fighter jet and missile models.
How to Use: Once installed, the generator can be accessed by opening the right-side Sidebar (N key) in the Blender 3D Viewport and clicking on the new "Dogfight" tab. Select your desired maneuvers, adjust your scene settings, and click generate.
