dopesheetFlow

Oylbis in VSE

A real exposure sheet for Grease Pencil — see your drawings, not abstract keys.

The problem without dopesheetFlow. Blender's native Dope Sheet shows each key as an abstract diamond — you can't tell what it contains without scrubbing to it. For drawn animation, you lose the visual reference a real light table gives you.

dopesheetFlow draws a thumbnail of every drawing right in the Dope Sheet, per layer, so you navigate your animation by image.

Real thumbnails & hierarchy

Each key is represented by an actual preview of the drawing it holds, aligned with the Dope Sheet frames. Organised as Scene / Summary / groups / layers, like a true exposure sheet: one thumbnail per state of each drawing layer. Alt+hover shows a larger floating preview.

Moving, isolation & scrubbing

  • Two move modes — trim (only the key moves, click+drag) or ripple (everything after shifts, ctrl+click+drag).
  • Double-click a thumbnail to jump to that key and layer.
  • Quick isolation per layer (stackable), per-layer colours, key type (breakdown, extreme…) via right-click on the dot on the thumbnail.
  • 3D-view scrubbing — in the 3D viewport, press alt+m and drag directly on the drawing to browse neighbouring keys, with easy layer switching.

Compatibility

Requires: Blender 5.2 LTS or newer · Grease Pencil v3.
Combines with: gpFlow, gpOutliner.
Note: dopesheetFlow appears via its dedicated button in the Dope Sheet header.

slateFlow is developed in my spare time, alongside my freelance work. Prices are deliberately affordable: in return, I can't commit to fixed deadlines or on-demand development. Feedback and ideas are welcome — the most important bugs will be fixed, and good ideas will make their way in. Thank you for your understanding.
