I get errors from other add-ons when Blender starts.
Messages about other add-ons (for example No module named 'bgl') come from add-ons that are not yet updated for your Blender version. They do not affect Green Vine.
Do I need the add-on to render a scene on another computer or a render farm?
No. The node tree and the plants are saved with your .blend file, so it renders without the add-on.
Can I apply the modifier and edit the mesh?
Yes. Applying the Geometry Nodes modifier turns the vine into a normal mesh. After that the sliders no longer work for that object.
Can I make the vines look less identical?
Use the Random sliders next to every setting, the colour randomness and a different Seed. With a few plants in the mix, a long planter looks natural.
Can I mix different plants in one planter?
Yes, up to 10 plants per array, each with its own share. In a planter box the back rows reach over the front rows, as in a real planter.
Moving the camera or the vines is slow.
It should not be: moving a vine or the camera never recalculates anything. Click Update Vines if the vines were made with an older version of the add-on.
My viewport is slow with many vines.
Switch the vines to Low or Dummy (or use All: Dummy). Renders still use full geometry. For large scenes also turn on Low-Poly Far From Camera (Render).
Do the stems get longer when I make them hang?
No. Droop bends the stems, it never stretches them. A hanging vine has the same stem length as a reaching one.
Stems go through my pot or planter. What can I do?
Turn on Pot Rim and match Radius (or Margin for a planter) and Rim Above Soil to your model. The add-on only knows its own pot shape (round pot or rectangular planter), so stems can still cut through other objects in the scene.
Can I use my own pots and planters?
Yes. Place the vine on the soil level of your pot, turn on Pot Rim and set Radius and Rim Above Soil to match the pot. Show Pot draws the outline in the viewport, so you can check that it fits. For a planter, use an array with Box Around The Array.
How do I get a vine hanging from a wall instead of a pot?
Click Wall in New Vine, or rotate any vine into the wall. Gravity follows the rotation, so the stems turn from a U into an L by themselves.
Why is the download so big?
All 25 plants come with their full leaf textures (colour, normal, opacity and more). They are not compressed or downscaled.
Does it work in Cycles and EEVEE?
The add-on was tested with Cycles. The vines are ordinary meshes and materials.
