Ivy Generator
πΏ Ivy Generator β Documentation
Overview
The Ivy Generator is a Blender tool that procedurally grows climbing ivy on any surface.
It offers control over leaves, branches, flowers, and gravity, making it useful for architecture, game environments, and VFX.
π₯ Interface Overview
Found in the N-Panel β Ivy_Generator, the tool provides controls for snapping ivy to geometry, flower appearance, and overall growth settings.
π Snap To
Defines where the ivy attaches:
-
None β Growth occurs freely without snapping.
-
Object β Ivy conforms to a single chosen object.
-
Target Object: Select the mesh (e.g., wall, rock, cube) where ivy will grow.
-
-
Collection β Ivy conforms across all meshes inside a selected collection.
-
Target Collection: Choose a collection containing multiple objects; ivy will grow across them seamlessly.
-
πΈ Flowers Settings
Controls flowers that appear with the ivy:
-
Color β Flower color, adjustable via color picker.
-
Density β Amount of flowers (0 = none, 1 = very dense).
πΏ General Settings
Leaves Density
Controls how many leaves are distributed along branches.
-
Lower values β sparse growth
-
Higher values β lush foliage
Projection Strength
Defines how tightly ivy clings to the surface.
-
0= free growth -
1= normal adhesion -
1 = ivy strongly follows surface details
Branches Density
Number of main vines growing.
-
Low (50β100) = light coverage
-
High (200+) = dense overgrowth
Sub Branches
How many secondary branches split from each main vine.
-
Low = simple structure
-
High = detailed, complex ivy
Gravity
Simulates natural sagging of vines.
-
0= no gravity -
1= realistic downward pull -
1 = heavy drooping vines
