Q: What’s the difference between KIT OPS Free and KIT OPS PRO?
Free and PRO are the same add-on. Free is the complete building tool: browse KPACK libraries, drop INSERTs of every type, boolean-cut with ready-made parts, snap to faces/edges/vertices/hardpoints, and use SMART mode (mirror, array, align, stretch). PRO adds the making tools: author boolean-cutting INSERTs, edit parts in the INSERT FACTORY, batch-build whole libraries with KIT OPS BATCH, plus favorites, Replace INSERT, decal creation, and the bundled Extra Utilities add-on.
Q: Can the Free version create its own INSERTs?
Yes — basic ones. Right-click any object and choose Create INSERT (Object, Geo Node, Shader, or Material) and Free saves it to your library with a thumbnail. What Free can’t do is author an INSERT that cuts — boolean-cutting INSERTs, and the full FACTORY editing workflow, are PRO.
Q: What is KIT OPS BATCH?
The bulk library builder — convert whole folders of models, materials, node groups, or PNG decals into INSERT libraries in one pass, and batch-render thumbnails for entire KPACKs. It used to be a separate paid product; it’s now included in PRO.
Q: What are the Extra Utilities?
A bundled modeling/cleanup add-on that ships with PRO: 2D booleans, the DeFillet suite (remove rounded corners, bevels and fillets), origin-to-bottom, duplicate image/material cleanup, vertex alignment, and more.
Q: If I start with Free, do I lose anything when I upgrade?
No. PRO installs over Free in place — same add-on, same libraries, same settings. Everything you built with Free keeps working.
Q: Is PRO a subscription?
No. Buy it once and it’s yours forever. Your purchase includes a full year of updates and support; after that, an optional 25% renewal gets you another year of the latest updates — or just keep using the version you have.
