MHD-Int Kepler-90 System — Eight Planets Around a Sun-Like Star
Where do the numbers come from?
NASA Exoplanet Archive (Kepler-90), Shallue & Vanderburg 2018, Cabrera et al. 2014, Liang et al. 2021, Kopparapu et al. 2014. Full list in CREDITS.md.
Which Blender version do I need?
Blender 4.2 LTS or newer. Older versions (3.x) are not supported.
Does it work with EEVEE?
It has only been tested with Cycles. Materials and lighting were tuned for Cycles.
Can I use the renders commercially?
Yes. Images, animations and scenes you create are yours, including for commercial projects. The script itself is GPL-3.0-or-later.
Do I need an add-on?
No. Everything is procedural and generated by the included script; no add-on and no external textures are required.
Where does the eighth planet come from?
Kepler-90 i comes from Shallue & Vanderburg 2018 (a neural-network search of Kepler data), which brought the count to eight planets.
Are all the planet sizes measured?
Radii come from the Archive where published; those that are not measured are estimated from mass and labelled.
Is this the real Kepler-90?
The periods, radii and masses are the published ones as listed by the NASA Exoplanet Archive. The starting phases are random, so the positions on screen are not the real ones for any date.
