What is NBCleaner?

A simple and efficient addon for Blender that helps clean up and organize your scene before exporting or transferring assets between Blender, 3ds Max, or other 3D software.

Key Features:

• Convenient Pie Menu (Shift+Q): Fast and easy access to all features.

• Merge Duplicated Materials:Quickly identifies and merges duplicated materials across your Blender scene, removing unnecessary copies like "Material.001, Material.002", etc.
  

  

• Merge Object Material Slots:Automatically combines duplicate materials within a selected object's material slots, simplifying your material assignments and optimizing exports.

• Clear All Materials: Removes all materials from selected objects instantly.

• Index & Unindex Materials:Add or remove numeric indices ([1], [2], ...) to material names for organized identification and simplified workflow.
  

  

• Clear Custom Normals: Removes custom split normals from selected objects, ensuring correct shading and avoiding export issues. (I really find the standard location of the clear custom normals button not the most convenient, so I added this standard feature to the pie-menu of my add-on.)

• Make it Export (One-click):Automatically applies modifiers, merges objects, and combines duplicate materials, preparing your model instantly for exporting to other 3D software.
  

  

• Remove Links & Empty: In one click, clear parent and delete unnecessary empty objects from the scene, preserving each object's transform.
  

  

  
  

Suitable for:

3D artists & Environment artists who frequently use bridges or regularly import/export objects between different 3D packages (e.g., Blender, 3ds Max, etc.).

Installation:

1. Download the .zip file.

2. Open Blender, go to Edit → Preferences → Add-ons → Install.

3. Select the downloaded file, then activate the addon.

Usage:

Press Shift+Q in Object Mode to access all addon features via the Pie menu.

Compatibility:

Blender 2.9.1 and higher.
