The Procedural Chain Add-on allows you to generate a wide variety of chain shapes and you can model and use your own chain geometry with that too.As you use that with curves, you can quickly shape the chains to fit it perfectly in your scene.

You can attach the chain to a surface and connect close curves making the process of drawing them a lot easier.
To use the chain assets, you just need to unzip the "Chains Assets.zip" file and add the extracted "Chain" folder to the "Asset Libraries" as you can see bellow. After you restart Blender, all of the chains will gonna be available inside the Asset Browser.You can create create a catalog for the chains to make it easier to find them, or use the tag "chain" on the search box
