Proxy Plus

Spencer Magnusson in Rigging

  • Feature: "remove disconnected" is available across all the generate proxy operators. Enabling "Remove disconnected" removes smaller, disconnected islands from the generated proxy meshes. This is for handling meshes with many small components, like hair cards or other things, that you don't want included in the proxy. The ratio setting refers to the number of vertices per mesh island: 1.0 is the highest vertex count among the islands, 0.0 is the smallest. Setting the ratio to 1.0 means only mesh islands with the highest vertex count will preserved.
  • Feature: you can now customize the proxy naming schema! By default, it is "_proxy" and will not break existing proxies with the add-on. It also allows you to change the separator between the proxy and the object or bone name. So instead of "foo_proxy_mybone", it can be "foo_proxy:mybone", for example.
  • Fix: support Blender 5.0, update adaptive subdivision check
  • New "Clear Drivers" operator to clear drivers on selected objects. Useful for proxy objects with drivers slowing down the viewport.
  • Adds new "Clear Drivers" option in existing operators to automatically do this on proxy objects, disabled by default.
  • Feature: a new "Set Proxy" operator, allowing you to set selected objects to act as proxy for another object. More details in documentation

  • adds basic Convex Hull proxy operation
  • Bug: "Reload Scripts" did not properly work on add-on
  • Proxy Rig: new "apply rotation" parameter that applies rotation to proxy meshes
  • decimate: allow non-mesh objects to be selected (to prevent confusion regarding the operator being disabled) but deselects them upon running the operator
  • decimate: adds progress status indicator while running
  • proxy rig: added check to disable operator if no active object is selected or the active object is not a mesh (same behavior, just preventing errors)
  • Hotfix: absolute imports breaking in Blender 4.2
  • Minor optimization for optimizing vertex groups
  • Updated extension manifest file for building in 4.2
  • Compatibility as a Blender extension for 4.2! Still backwards compatible with older versions
  • Fixed the non-op default values for decimate proxy

May Update:
