Can beginners follow this?
Yes. The course starts with Blender basics and a startup file lesson. The main robot projects become more technical, so if you are a beginner I recommend watching all the lessons in chronological order, and reading the lesson summary after watching each lesson. Take notes, take breaks and examine the checkpoint files along the way. And don’t forget to have fun. This course is here to stay, so you can take your time.
Which Blender version is used?
This course is recorded in Blender 5.1 on Linux, and it has been thoroughly tested on Windows 11, macOS and Linux. It will also support Blender 5.2 LTS.
Can I use my creations commercially?
Yes. The course uses CC0/public domain assets and a 100% Blender workflow.
Is the Rigging Companion add-on exclusive to the course?
Yes for now, but it will be free and open source later, as soon as I have made it less dependent on the course workflow. I want to make it more accessible for everyone and I also want to add more features. Stay tuned.
What computer do I need?
All the design, modeling, rigging and animation lessons can be completed on most computers and even old laptops. For the lessons that cover lighting, shading or rendering, you’ll need a moderate/powerful computer. It is recommended that your computer has a dedicated GPU.
What's the refund policy?
If you have technical issues or if you’re not satisfied with the course for any reason, simply ask for a refund within 14 days, and you'll get a full refund.
I downloaded the files, where are the subtitles?
The subtitles are soft-embedded in the video files. You can use a modern video player to see them, for example VLC (https://www.videolan.org/vlc/#download) which supports Linux, MacOS and Windows.
To see the subtitles in VLC, go to Subtitle -> Sub Track and select your prefered language from the drop-down list. Available languages are English, Spanish (Español), French (Français), German (Deutsch), Brazilian Portuguese (Português do Brasil), and Japanese (日本語).
