Getting Started
1. Install the addon
Install SlothNodeVault like any other Blender extension. Go to Edit > Preferences > Extensions, or install from the downloaded .zip file.
2. Set your library folder
Open the SlothNodeVault panel in the N-sidebar (3D Viewport or Node Editor). Expand Settings and set your Library Folder path. This is where all your node groups are stored as .blend files.
Tip: Set this to a Dropbox or iCloud folder to sync across all your machines automatically.
3. Save your first node group
- Open the Node Editor (Shader, Geometry Nodes, or Compositor)
- Select or enter a node group
- Click Save at the top of the panel
- Give it a name, category, and tags
- Click OK
4. Load a node group
- Browse or search your library in the panel
- Click Load on any item
- If a compatible Node Editor is open, the node group is placed directly into your active node tree
- If no Node Editor is open, use Shift+A > Group to find it in your file
Cloud Sync
Dropbox
In Settings, click Set Dropbox. The addon sets your library to a named folder inside Dropbox. All machines with the same Dropbox account automatically have access to your full library.
iCloud
Same process. Click Set iCloud in Settings. Works on macOS and Windows with iCloud Drive enabled.
Export & Import Packs
Bundle your entire library as a .zip to share or back up. In Settings, click Export Library Pack. To install a pack from someone else, click Import Pack.
