Blender 5.3 required · 0.4.3 Beta
Bring an existing Gaussian Splat capture into a focused Prepare → Look → Render workflow. Splat Stage adds editable cropping, scan color controls, bounded atmosphere and optional shot caching around Blender 5.3’s native splat support.
Crop the part you need
Draw a crop in the viewport, adjust its handles or enter exact dimensions. Keep or remove the inside of a box or ellipsoid. Add up to eight subtractive cutouts. Compare the uncropped capture in the viewport while the final render keeps its crop. Source splat data stays intact.
Navigate without thinning the scan
Smooth Preview uses Blender’s 2 px or 4 px viewport pixel size. It keeps the chosen point density and final-render settings at the cost of a softer preview. Separate viewport/render density and splat-size controls are also available. It is preview resolution control, not a replacement GPU renderer.
Reuse a shot background
Shot Cache bakes the scan and world at 100% density into scene-linear EXR plates, then links editable mesh actors into a separate scene. A fixed camera uses one plate; a moving camera uses one plate per baked frame. Useful when rendering the same background repeatedly during animation revisions. The initial bake still costs time and storage.
Shape the look
Adjust exposure, approximate RGB white balance, tint, contrast and saturation for the scan independently of actor materials. Add an editable bounded volume with density, height falloff and soft edges. Haze, Ground and Shafts presets provide starting points. The optional Sun lights volumes and ordinary geometry. Captured lighting and shadows remain baked.
Render with clear controls
English sidebar, matching icons, EEVEE/Cycles quality profiles, camera from view, native frame rendering and a small Before/After render comparison. Profiles can be restored. Experimental Shot Turbo camera culling is a secondary tool, disabled by default.
Evidence you can repeat
The gallery uses actual Blender renders and addon interface captures of two credited CC BY 4.0 scans. Third-party scan files are not included. The download separately includes an original synthetic cafe as a reproducible workflow fixture.
In a 0.4.3 test of the synthetic fixture at 1440×960, EEVEE, 128 samples and 100% density, three warmed repeat renders averaged 0.675 s native and 0.317 s cached: 2.13× for this shot. Initial bake: 1.281 s. Actor-scene linear RGBA RMSE: 0.00265; images are not pixel-identical. Timings include EXR output. Results vary with scene and hardware; see the supplied report and scripts.
Read before buying
Beta software. Tested on Windows / Blender 5.3.0 Beta ace25df17a10 / RTX 4060 Ti. Native APIs may change between beta builds. Other platforms and future builds are unvalidated.
Use existing Gaussian PLY/SPZ files supported by Blender. No scan generation, training or splat export.
Color controls do not physically relight the scan or reconstruct missing data.
Fog requires live rendering. Detected volumes bypass Shot Cache and Shot Turbo.
Cache composites actors over a 2D plate. It does not reproduce live scan/actor shadows, reflections, translucent depth interactions or depth/AOV passes. Furniture occlusion needs optional mesh holdouts.
No universal speed multiplier or lossless full-resolution viewport acceleration is promised.
Included and installation
Installable extension ZIP, English guide, original synthetic cafe .blend/PLY, source and regression scripts, evidence images and test report. GPL-3.0-or-later.
Install the inner addon extension ZIP from Preferences → Get Extensions → Install from Disk. Enable it, press N in the 3D View and choose Splat Stage. Install the addon before opening the demo. Use Blender orientation when importing the included PLY.
Support
Use the creator contact channel on the marketplace where you purchased it. Include exact Blender build, addon version, engine, OS/GPU and reproduction steps.
