Stylised Procedural Bookshelf

So what is it?
Well, it's a stylised bookshelf.  And it's procedural.

Okay smartypants.  I clicked on it, so I'd already got that much.  You want to elucidate a bit?
Fine.  It's a super simple bookshelf I made to fill out a bunch of scenes.  I needed it to be very easily editable so I created a geometry nodes setup that can change the size and shape of the bookshelf as required.

Ah.  How incredibly useful that must be!  So what can you edit?
Well, in terms of the shelves, you can edit the number of shelves, the width of the shelves, the depth of the shelves, and the height of the shelves.  You can also edit the thickness of the wood of the shelves themselves, or the sides of the shelves.  You can turn on and off the sides of the shelves and the top of the shelves.

Great.  You want to say 'shelves' a few more times?
Thanks, I'd love to.  Shelves.

Hilarious, well done.  What goes on the shelves?
So the shelves populate with books.  You know, because they're bookshelves.  But you can either use procedural books or you can create your own models, pop them in a collection, and randomly instance them onto the shelves instead of using the procedural ones.  So you can make the books as fancy as you want, ya fancy Dan.

OK, cool. And I'm guessing you've made a million billion sliders to control how the books look and how they're organised on the shelves?
Oooooh, you'd better believe it, partner.  The procedural books can set a max/min on width, depth, height, spine curve, the inset on the paper from the cover and the cover thickness.  Of course, I didn't want to mess too much with your Fancy-Dan modelled books though, so the only thing you can change with them is the overall size - they maintain their fanciness the whole time.  But both the modelled and the procedural books have settings to affect how straight or higgledy-piggledy their spines are laid out on the shelves.

Uh-huh.  And what if I hate these shonky flat materials you've used?  What if I like using REAL textures?
I thought you might say that.  So I've got settings for the materials too.  You can change the materials on the shelves, and separately on the shelf sides, then the paper material for the procedural books.  For the covers of the procedural books I've had to get a bit hacky, so the way it works is this:  you can select how many different materials you'd like for the book covers then just add them to the object.  There are six on there at the moment, but it's super easy to replace them with your own.  If you're using your own models, obviously you can add your own (suitably fancy) textures there.

Well this all sounds ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE.  Why is it only a pitiful 2 dollars?  What's the catch - is it actually awful?
Erm.  It might be actually.  I haven't made blender assets for other people before, only for myself to use in production.  This is pretty much an experiment to see whether anyone wants this kind of thing and to get my head around what I might not have considered.  If you have any problems or there is anything else you'd like to see it do, please do give me a shout so I can redeem the honour of myself and my family.

Ok.  Well you certainly sound like a lovely, charming, and very attractive person.  I'll buy it and let you know how utterly life-changingly wonderful it is!
You know, that's exactly what I thought you'd say...
