Stylized Forest Generator is a highly customizable forest generator for Blender built on Geometry Nodes and wrapped in a simple, artist-friendly add-on interface. With just a few clicks, you can block out entire stylized forests, tweak them, and render them without fighting node trees.

Optimization Modes — Forests Without a NASA Supercomputer

High-quality stylized forests often require a lot of performance. To help users who don’t have a NASA-level computer enjoy a smoother workflow, we added several optimization features that keep the same visual quality while reducing unnecessary load.

The first one is the camera optimization mode — trees and plants are only generated inside the camera’s visible region. This prevents your computer from wasting performance on areas that the camera will never capture.

We also added a one-click Lightweight Mode. Since I personally work 100% on a laptop, large scenes often became frustratingly laggy during development. That’s why I created this mode: it reduces 80–90% of the plant count while still keeping a convincing visual result for lookdev and layout.

There is also a dedicated Viewport OPT Mode: in the viewport, up to 90% of the plants are temporarily hidden so you can navigate and frame your shots smoothly. At render time, the full detail automatically returns for maximum quality.

Compatibility

Stylized Forest Generator supports Blender 4.5 and above (including Blender 5.0).

The add-on works in both Eevee and Cycles, but it is primarily designed and tuned for Eevee. All promotional artwork shown for this product is rendered in Eevee. The look and shading will differ in Cycles due to how each engine handles lighting and materials.

Disclaimer

In Render mode inside the 3D Viewport, it is normal for performance to be slower, especially in heavier scenes. Even with the optimization tools, a forest scene still contains many objects and can be demanding on some hardware.

The asset and node system is designed with mid- to close-range visual quality as the priority. It is not recommended to build extremely large open-world scale environments with a single setup, as memory usage can become very high.

This product is intended for use inside Blender. We do not provide support for exporting these assets or setups to other software or game engines, and we cannot guarantee correct behavior outside the Blender ecosystem.
