Pack UVs the way texture artists actually work.
Blender's native "Pack Islands" arranges your UVs, but it doesn't give every surface a fair share of texture resolution, it doesn't pack by real island shape, and it gives you no visual feedback on density or distortion. TexelPack does all of that in a single panel: it normalizes texel density across your whole selection, packs by the real shape of each island, and lets you see the result before you bake.
Key features
- Uniform texel density: scales each island to the real 3D surface area of its object (object scale included), so a big crate and a small prop get consistent resolution. Set a target density in pixels per meter.
- Four packing modes: MAXRECTS, Guillotine and Shelf, plus a shape-aware "Max Quality" mode that packs by the real rasterized shape, so small pieces slot into the holes of larger ones.
- Visual overlays: color-coded texel-density and UV-distortion maps right in the 3D viewport, so problems are obvious before baking.
- Island tools: stack/unstack identical or mirrored islands, flip, straighten, rectify curved quad grids, and smart selection (similar / flipped / border).
- World-aligned UVs: project UVs from world space at a target density and orient islands to world up — ideal for hard-surface and environment art.
- Production-ready: multi-object packing into one atlas, UDIM, group packing (per object / material / collection), pinned islands, per-island margins with pixel-exact padding, excluded regions, preview before apply, presets, and a copyable pack report.
-
Export & automation: per-island data in JSON/CSV, real-shape SVG layout export, a pure-Python packing API and a headless batch driver for whole
.blendlibraries. - Localized in 4 languages: the entire add-on interface, panels, buttons, tooltips and packreports, is fully translated into English, ified Chinese, Spanish and Portuguese with a built-in languages witch that works independently of Blender's UI language.
What makes it different
Native Pack Islands fits islands; TexelPack manages resolution. Its signature is the texel-density workflow (normalization + overlays) combined with shape-aware packing and honest statistics — efficiency and overlaps are measured on real geometry, not bounding boxes, so the numbers don't lie.
Who it's for
3D game artists, environment artists, hard-surface modelers and indie studios who care about consistent texture resolution and tight atlases.
Quality & compatibility
- Works on Blender 3.6 LTS, all of 4.x, and 5.x, shipped in both the modern Extension format (4.2+) and the legacy add-on format.
-
No external dependencies, runs entirely on Blender's bundled Python; nothing to
pip install. - Every release is smoke-tested against real Blender 3.6, 4.2 and 5.x builds and backed by an automated test suite (1300+ tests).
- Non-blocking, analysis and packing run in a background thread, so the UI stays responsive and Esc cancels.
Documentation & support
Full user documentation (installation, quick start, per-feature guides, FAQ and troubleshooting) is available online in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Simplified Chinese, and ships with the add-on. Support is provided by email, and all future updates are included with your purchase.
