Appending the nodes or the example objects will also add two objects. Can I throw those away?
No, don't delete those, just hide them in the outliner or move them to a separate collection and disable that collection. These object are used by the Highway Shield nodes as templates.
My object looks weird after changing some properties
Make sure that the text fits the shield. The shield is designed to display 2 or 3-digit highway numbers and US state names and different kind of text may not always fit. You can adjust the font size, but that might not be very pleasing to the eye
In the video you apply the modifier. Is that necessary?
Absolutely not! That was only done to show the generated geometry.
Did you use AI to create these assets?
No, these geometry nodes were 100% created with human hands and brains.
Why doesn´t this work in older versions of Blender?
It might work in older versions but that has not been tested. The functionality of geometry nodes in Blender has been rapidly expanding and this add-on might use nodes that dont exist in older versions.
