How do I install?

This installs just like any other Blender Addon

When you install the .zip, it will take a few seconds to fully install everything - this is normal. Additionally the first time you run the operator it will take a few seconds longer than usual.

Does this work with Windows and Mac?

Yes, this is designed for the new ARM cpu architecture (M1,M2,M3 chips etc). The script talks directly to a prepackaged python interpreter and therefore works right out of the box. If you run into any installation issues, make sure you're in administrator mode!

With a Mac, if you are running into an issues, particularly the error:

Failed to launch script: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/Users/"yourname"/Library/Application Support/Blender/4.0/scripts/addons/VideoToImageSequenceAddon/blenderenv/bin/python3.10'

Then you'll need to force administrator mode for the python interpreter. To do this (here is a video explanation):

Go into your addons folder and find the python interpreter (generally it will be '/Users/"yourname"/Library/Application Support/Blender/4.0/scripts/addons/VideoToImageSequenceAddon/blenderenv/bin/python3.10')

Click 'Get Info' for the python3.10 file

On the bottom right you'll see a little lock icon - unlock it and set permissions to read & write

Open Terminal in the blenderenv/bin/ directory and type chmod +x python3.10

What Blender version should I be using?

This addon is designed for Blender 4.0.

How do I use it?

Just drag and drop a video from any folder and it will populate a subdirectory for you.
