Wrapping Up the Superhive October Blend Fest

Whew! We're officially at the end of this thing now! The Superhive October Blend Fest is now something we can refer to in the past tense. How was it for you? I know that for those of us at Autotroph, it's been an incredible ride. Thanks for coming along for it with us! It certainly wouldn't have been nearly as fun to celebrate 23 years of open source Blender without you. So seriously, thank you.

Now... we did some cool challenges over this event and I wanted to make it a point to give you the results of them. Not only is it just good to be transparent about stuff like this, but also, some of these things are just really cool to share. So strap in, I've got some stories to tell!

Results from We'll Match You Day

On the third day of the Superhive October Blend Fest, we had a day where we said we'd donate 23% of Superhive's proceeds directly to the Blender Dev Fund. The idea was that the more you bought, the more we would donate.

To get you a little context, there are already daily donations that go to the Blender Fund when Superhive Creators choose to contribute part of their product sales. Those donations come to roughly $300 each day on average. That's pretty impressive in its own right. But it gets better. On the specific day of this event, purchases of products that already contribute ended up raising $467.84. So by that alone you already did better than average. Well done!

And we said we'd donate 23% of what we make, regardless of whether the product contributes. Incredibly, your efforts on the site got us to donate an additional $956.98 to the Blender Dev Fund. So in one day, we more than tripled the donation that typically gets sent to the Blender Foundation. We sent in the Blender Dev Fund donation yesterday. Great job!

That Crazy "Load Up Your Cart" Thing

Flash forward to the 7th day of the Superhive October Blend Fest where we decided to issue an absolutely silly challenge. In fact, we got emails from some you telling us just how silly you thought it was. We know. We thought it was silly, too! But you want to know what's incredible? Four people actually met the crazy requirements we put out, and we're sending each of them a well-deserved shirt. Thank you for being a part of this. Maybe we should find a way to sell t-shirts here on Superhive. What do you think?

Thanking Creators on TACOS Tuesday

Then there was TACOS Tuesday, where we put our energy into spreading the love with our favorite Superhive Creators by giving ratings and reviews on their products. This was another one of those days where I didn't really know what was going to happen. Were there going to be more reviews? Were they going to be good ones? Was everything going to just simply fall flat.

Dear Blender community... please forgive me for ever doubting you. Because, wow! Did you ever show up!

To give you an idea of how well you did, there are typically about 14 or so reviews added on Superhive each day, and they typically happen within the first day after a product is purchased. On TACOS Tuesday, you fine folks came to the site and left an amazing 49 reviews! That's over 3x what our Creators get on an average day! And as if that wasn't amazing enough, the next day you added another 37 reviews. The average rating across those two days was 4.9!

Let it continue to be known that the Blender community absolutely knows how to spread the love. Thank you! This is truly the best community to be a part of.

Oh... and MORE BUNDLES!

And if you'll allow me to go a bit out of order here, I want to go back to our incredible Bundle Day, where we launched 20 new bundles on Superhive, each with an incredible deal that's only available until November 18th. As it turns out, we had a bundle that I'd originally forgotten to mention in that post and I wanted to give a special mention of it here. It was entirely my fault; in the process of putting all those bundles together, I somehow let that one slip through the cracks. But I'm fixing that now! Have a look at the Rigging Toolbox bundle!

Rigging Toolbox

This is a bundle packed with the four heaviest hitters in the realm of automated rigging in Blender. Go to the bundle page for more details, but this thing has Auto-Rig Pro, Launch Control, Faceit, and X-Muscle System. Seriously, with this bundle, you can rig just about anything... and fast.

I've also taken the liberty of updating the Bundle Day post to include the Rigging Toolbox, so it can be there with the rest of its Superhive October Blend Fest friends.

And it turns out that there were a few other bundles that wanted to come to the party, too! Bundles are a relatively new feature on Superhive, and they're currently a bit hard to find on the site. Right now, Bundles can only be found with our Search feature. So I figured it would be a good idea to give a few of our other bundles a bit of a signal boost right here in this blog post. Not all of them have as large of a discount as the Bundle Day bundles, but they're still a great value in their own right. Have a look!
