Run AI coding agents or your own terminal inside Blender, connected to your scene.
Blender Agent Terminal adds a new editor type, Agent Terminal, that runs an AI coding agent or your
system terminal right inside a Blender area. The agent is connected to the Blender it was opened in. It
can inspect your scene, run Python, take screenshots of your viewport, search the Blender manual and API
reference, and import free assets, all while you watch it work.
Features
- A real terminal in any Blender area, with full color, mouse selection, copy and paste, and scrollback.
- Open it from any area's editor-type menu, from Window > New Agent Terminal Window, or with the
terminal button in the corner of any 3D Viewport, which splits the view in one click.
- Four agent modes: Claude Code (default), Codex CLI, OpenCode, or a plain terminal (your login shell,
or PowerShell on Windows).
- The official Blender Lab MCP server is built in. Nothing to install and nothing downloaded at startup,
because it runs on Blender's own Python. The agent can read the scene, run bpy code, take
screenshots, and search the bundled API reference and user manual.
- Free online assets on request. Ask for "a wooden table" or "a sunset HDRI" and the agent finds and
imports free models, materials, HDRIs and images from Poly Haven, ambientCG, 3DAssets.dev, BlenderKit,
Sketchfab and Openverse. Only free assets are used, and every import adds a credit line with the
author and license to the Online Asset Credits text block.
- Model and effort buttons in Claude Code mode switch the model and the effort level with one click.
- Good scene habits by default: the agent works non-destructively with modifiers, organizes objects with
collections and parenting, and leaves notes in custom properties.
- Several Blenders at once: each Blender instance gets its own connection port, so two Blenders never
control each other.
- Matches Blender's look, with colors from your Text Editor theme, Blender icons and Blender wording.
- Works on macOS, Windows and Linux.
Requirements
- Blender 5.1 or newer.
- Online Access turned on (Edit > Preferences > System > Network > Allow Online Access).
- For an agent mode, that agent installed and logged in with your own account: Claude Code, Codex CLI or
OpenCode. Terminal mode needs nothing extra.
Important
The AI agents are not included and are not part of this purchase. You use them with your own account,
under their own terms, and their providers bill any usage costs.
Blender Agent Terminal is an independent product. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Blender
Foundation, Anthropic, OpenAI or the OpenCode project.
