If Pillow is not installed in Blender's Python environment, please install it manually first; if Pillow is not imported, the add-on will exit with an error.

Either load the .zip as an add-on, or load the .py file in the zip with a script editor and run it.

Once the add-on is activated, a new tab will appear in the panel.

Set the image to be dotted, the mesh to be used as the dot, the level of posterization, the resolution, the scale of the dot, the scale of the entire image, and a random depth range for dot placement.

Press generate Dots to generate a camera and dot array.

The dots can be observed most beautifully from this camera.

When the random depth range is 0 m, the dots will be placed on the same plane, but if the random depth range is greater than 0 m, the dots will vary in depth and it will be difficult to tell what the picture is from anywhere but the front.

If you change the camera position and UPDATE Dots, you can re-generate the array of dots according to the new camera position.
