Animation Snapper Pro

Melowilo Animation LTD in Rigging

I installed the addon, but I can't find the panel.
The panel is located in the 3D View. Press 'N' to open the sidebar, and look for a tab named "AnimSnapPro."
The "Fill from Selection" button is greyed out, why?
The "Fill from Selection" button is only active when "Use Selection Order Mode" is disabled. If "Use Selection Order Mode" is enabled, the addon automatically uses your selection order, so there's no need to manually fill the slots.
What is the "Snap_Reference_Helpers" collection?
To keep your scene tidy, all helper empties created by this addon are automatically placed into a collection named Snap_Reference_Helpers. You can view/hide this collection as needed.
What if I drag an Armature into the Source/Target slot but no bone name appears?
When you drag an Armature object into a slot: 1. The addon correctly identifies it as an Armature. 2. To automatically pick a bone, you need to: * Have that Armature selected and be in Pose Mode. * Have a bone selected/active within that Armature in Pose Mode. If these conditions aren't met when you drag the Armature, the bone name field will remain empty. You can then select the Armature, go to Pose Mode, select the desired bone, and use the "Set Source/Target" button (eyedropper) or the "Pick Bone" button (armature icon). Alternatively, you can manually type the bone name if you know it.
Can I use this for attaching objects to deforming meshes (e.g., cloth or soft bodies)?
Yes! The "Bake Helper for Element" operator is designed for this. 1. Select your deforming mesh. 2. Go into Edit Mode and select a single vertex, edge, or face. 3. Use "Bake Helper for Element." This creates an empty that's animated to follow that element's world position and orientation. 4. You can then use this baked empty as the Source for another object to follow.
Will this addon slow down Blender?
The addon itself is only active when you're using its functions. The batch operations do process frame by frame, which can take time for long animation ranges, but this is necessary for accurate baking. General Blender performance should not be affected when not actively using the tool.
My snap isn't working as expected, or nothing happens.
Check these common things: * Source/Snapped Correctly Set: Ensure you have valid objects or bones in the Source and Snapped slots, or that you have a valid 2-item selection if "Use Selection Order Mode" is on. * "Keyframe on Snap" Unchecked?: If this is unchecked, the snap will happen, but no keyframe will be set, so the object might revert on the next frame change if it's already animated. * Locked Channels: If "Respect Locked Channels" is on, and the channels you expect to change are locked on the Snapped item, they won't be affected. * Conflicting Animation/Constraints: While the tool aims to override, very complex existing setups on the Snapped item might sometimes interfere before the visual transform is applied and keyed. It's generally best if the Snapped item is relatively "clean" on the frames you're working on. I tried to make it compatible for most situations, and it can handle most normal reg setups. Specifically tested with Auto-Rig Pro and Rigify plus some standard custom rigs. But it might be possible that you have a setup it might struggle with if the existing constraint setup is too complex.
When I use "Batch Forward" or "Baked Helpers," Blender seems to step through frames. Is this normal?
Yes, this is normal. To accurately get the world-space transform of objects (especially bones within animated armatures or objects with their own animation/constraints) at each frame, the addon needs to evaluate the scene at that frame. The modal timer operation processes frame by frame. There's a "Cancel Batch" button if you need to stop it.
Why would I use "Offset Helper" instead of just parenting?
"Offset Helper" is designed for situations where you need an object (Snapped) to follow another (Original Source) but also maintain its own independent animation or be easily detached/transferred. * The OffsetBase empty follows the Original Source. * The OffsetAdjust empty is a child of OffsetBase. This OffsetAdjust becomes your new Source. * Your Snapped object then follows this OffsetAdjust. This intermediate OffsetAdjust empty gives you an extra control layer. You can change the offset by moving or animating OffsetAdjust at any time and just Batch re-snap again. You can keep it in your scene if you want to snap back to it at some point again, to the exact same offset, like the left hand coming back to a gun barrel after the reload. Since the OffsetBase is parented to the original source object, and the OffsetAdjust helper is a child of that, it will always follow your organically set Source object,
How is this different from using Blender's Child Of constraint or Copy Transforms constraint?
While constraints are powerful, they can become complex to manage, especially when you need an object to switch what it follows multiple times, or when you need to edit the animation later. Animation Snapper Pro bakes everything to keyframes. This means: * Simpler Management: No stack of constraints to enable/disable or manage influence for. * Easier Editing: Just delete or adjust keyframes. * Game Engine Friendly: Keyframed animation exports cleanly to game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity, whereas complex constraint setups often don't. * Flexibility: You're not locked into a persistent relationship.
