Hello Blender community!
We’re excited to share an animation asset that took hundreds of hours to develop — a fully rigged Betta Fish (also known as the Siamese fighting fish or Betta splendens).
The model has been carefully crafted with attention to every detail — multiple UV maps, color attributes, and flexible materials for easy customization. It uses a combination of classic Blender simulations (cloth) and creative geometry nodes techniques to achieve natural and expressive motion.
In addition, we provide a workflow using the free Wiggle 2 add-on, allowing you to create advanced, realistic swimming animation by animating just a few control bones.
Included:
-
Two .blend files: a ready-to-render scene and an appendable asset version
-
A complete FK rig with optional Wiggle Bones system
-
Five color variations and editable procedural materials
-
Cloth simulation setup for fins and tail
-
A tutorial video showing the full process from setup to final animation
The asset was created for Blender 4.2+ and is render-ready in Cycles.
No external dependencies are required — Wiggle 2 is optional and freely available on GitHub (link in documentation).
Perfect for motion design, commercials, product visuals, and any project that needs natural, elegant movement and tv-quality animation.
