Geometry Fading

  • Geometry Fading Distance — Controls how far from solid geometry the fog starts to fade out. Higher values push the fade further from surfaces; lower values keep fog closer to the geometry.

  • Intersection Feather (Meant for EEVEE) — Softens the edge where the fog card cuts into geometry. This is to compensate for errors in the raycast in EEVEE, due to clipping and floating point values. Pushing it too far can result in undesired borders around objects and making the fog "pop" when proximity is too close to intersecting objects.
    - For Cycles it can be set to the lowest value.

Fog Intensity

  • Fog Intensity — Overall strength/density of the fog. Higher values make the fog thicker and more opaque.

  • Fog Transparency — Controls how see-through the fog is. Higher values let more of the scene show through.

Camera

  • Camera Fade Distance — Fades the fog as it approaches the camera, so the card never appears as a flat plane right in front of the lens.

  • Camera View Angle — Fades the fog based on the viewing angle, cleaning up the seam you'd otherwise see when looking at the card edge-on (grazing angles).

Flow Map (toggle on/off)

  • Speed — How fast the fog flows along the flow map direction.

  • Strength — How strongly the flow distorts the fog. Higher values give more pronounced movement.

  • Direction — The angle (in degrees) the fog flows toward.

Animated Noise (toggle on/off)

  • Noise Speed — How fast the noise animates over time, driving the internal churn of the fog.

  • Noise Contrast — The contrast between dense and thin areas of the noise. Higher values create sharper, more defined wisps.

  • Noise Strength — How much the noise affects the fog's overall look.

  • Noise Scale — The size of the noise pattern.

  • Noise Wind Speed — How fast the noise pattern drifts across the card, simulating wind.

  • Noise Wind Direction — The angle the noise drifts toward.

Emission (toggle on/off)

  • Emission Strength — How brightly the fog glows.

  • Emission Color - Tint you emission to fit scene lights.

Normal Map (toggle on/off)

  • Normal Map Strength — How strongly the normal map affects the fog's surface detail and how it catches light.
