Bmerch for 3D Printing

Plastiq in Parametric Models

Type a word, import an SVG, and get back a keychain, coaster, nameplate, etc. that you can send straight to your slicer — that's the whole idea behind bmerch.

WINDOWS ONLY. NO LINUX/MAC. bmerch relies on a small compiled library (pyclipper) for robust 2D offsetting on tight, detailed curves — it's currently only built for Windows, so macOS and Linux aren't supported yet.

Commercial Use of Generated Models

Models generated with bmerch may be used for personal or commercial purposes, including selling physical prints or digital models.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights to any text, fonts, SVGs, logos, or other assets you import into bMerch. Using a font or SVG in bMerch does not grant you a license to that asset.

If you use commercially licensed or copyrighted assets, you must comply with their respective license terms.

This add-on is very simple to use. The primitives live in Add Mesh/Shift + A->Merch (should be at the bottom of the list). Create a primitive, select a text or curve object, set parameters, and generate a 3D printable mesh. I haven't tested this with every single font. If the font or SVG is too complex, there is a chance that this extension won't work. This extension does not work with curve objects that are lines with no fill. The bead and keychain primitives take a Blender Text object or an imported SVG/curve and does the tedious part for you: bridging separate letters into one connected solid, keeping every internal features filled in. To use Keychain and Bead, select a text or curve then create the primitive while the text/curve is highlighted. The built mesh will be manifold. No boolean cleanup, no stray floating islands, no surprise non-manifold errors the night before you print.

Six generators, one Shift-A menu (Add Mesh > Merch):

Bead — a backing rim bridges nearby letters into a single holdable piece, with raised or flush lettering and an optional stringing hole drilled straight through, automatically clamped to leave a safe wall of material around it.

Keychain — the same bridged-letter backing as Bead, plus a welded attachment loop with its own hole for a keyring, anchored to whichever corner of the shape you choose.

Nameplate (flat or standing) — a fixed-size plate with your text or graphic centered on it, raised as a relief or engraved into the surface. Build the plate once, then decorate it with as many different designs as you like.

Pendant — a circular bezel with a recessed floor for your design and a side-bored hole for a jump ring or cord, sized and placed independently of the wall so it never breaks through.

Coaster (round or square) — a wide, low-relief disc or rounded square with a raised border, held at a deliberately shallow relief height so the flat top still masks and paints cleanly.

Coin — a two-sided bezel with independent front and back designs; the back is automatically mirrored so it reads correctly after a real coin flip.
