Boardtyper 3D is a Blender addon designed to automate the preparation, arrangement, and export of 3D game components directly into Tabletop Simulator (TTS). It generates the required `.obj` files, extracts textures, and compiles the final TTS `.json` save file, offering seamless local testing and direct GitHub and cloud asset hosting for Multiplayer.

Stop fighting with files and start playtesting.
If you design board games or create mods for Tabletop Simulator, you know the bottleneck isn't the 3D modeling—it is the tedious, repetitive process of moving those assets into the game. Exporting meshes one by one, manually uploading textures to the cloud, right-clicking to create states, and writing repetitive Lua scripts breaks your creative flow.
Boardtyper 3D is a Blender addon that transforms your 3D viewport into a direct authoring engine for Tabletop Simulator.

Built by Designers, for Designers
During the intense prototyping phases of our own tabletop projects, the constant back-and-forth between Blender, external text editors, and TTS became unmanageable. We needed a way to update a token, change a board layout, and push a playable update to our playtesters in minutes, not hours.
Boardtyper 3D was developed to solve this exact problem. It handles the math, the file routing, and the code compilation so you can focus entirely on designing great game mechanics.

Prototype quickier!
Finish a new set of custom miniatures or a complex board layout in Blender. Instead of manually importing and arranging them in TTS, you simply click Export. Boardtyper automatically calculates a clean spawning grid so your pieces never explode from physics collisions upon loading. Update your meshes, and have a fully playable, networked multiplayer update ready for your playtesters.

Features that Solve Actual Workflows
Boardtyper 3D provides specific tools for specific tabletop problems:
Custom Physics Colliders: Stop watching your custom dice roll infinitely or your miniatures fall over. Assign any low-poly mesh as a precise convex or non-convex collider directly from the Blender sidebar to ensure your pieces interact flawlessly with the table's physics engine.
Automated TTS States: Need a coin that flips or a health dial that rotates? Group your mesh variations right in Blender. Boardtyper compiles them into a single, interactive multi-state object.
Magnetic Snap Points: Create rapid, precise interactions for your players. Convert standard Blender Empties parented to your meshes into native TTS magnetic Snap Points instantly.
Smart Bag Population: Visually define what goes inside your bags. Select other scene objects, set exact quantities, and they will be pre-packed when the game loads. You can even hide utility objects from the physical table while keeping them available inside containers.
Seamless Lua Injection: Attach custom .lua logic to any piece via external files or direct text input. Need a quick solution? Inject built-in premium snippets like floating Score Counters or Chat Announcers with a single click.
Total Hosting Control: Export locally for rapid offline iteration, or use the Cloud Export Engine. Boardtyper can automatically create GitHub repositories and upload your .obj files and textures via a Personal Access Token, or route your assets to your own servers (AWS S3, Google Drive) by automatically injecting your base URL into the final JSON.

Requirements:
Blender 4.2 LTS to 5.1
(Optional) GitHub account and Personal Access Token for automated cloud uploads.
