Brittle fractures any glass object in Blender, not only flat panes. Place the hits, press Break, and get clean broken-glass meshes in damage states, all cut from one crack pattern so they swap without a pop. Preview live, break it as an animation, render it as glass.

Flat sheets with any outline, curved panels, hollow objects. The cracks grow on the surface of whatever you select.

The crack web draws on your mesh as you change a setting. The damage slider shows which pieces leave at every level, in the order they fall if you require.

Click where the glass gets hit; drag to hit harder. Or use random hits with a seed, the 3D cursor, empties, a painted vertex group, or a dropped object.

Intact, Cracked, Holed, Destroyed by default; edit the ladder to any number of states. Every state is one watertight mesh with real crack gaps, rim faces, UVs and per-face attributes.

Localized impacts, Full shatter, Blast, Shrapnel, Tempered and Laminated, with a seed and multipliers for fine tuning. Radial cracks, stepped rings, dead-end secondaries, forks and kinks: the way glass fails.

The fallen pieces can be discarded, kept in place, made into separate shards, or dropped onto a floor or any mesh with physics and joined into a pile. Chips below a size you choose can be made to skip the physics and land on the pile afterwards.

Whole until the break frame, the crack web for a few frames, then every piece flies, tumbles and settles as a keyframed object. Give each hit its own frame and blow direction, and the hits play one after another. Turn on Recoil and the object takes the hit: a shot bottle jerks, tips and falls.
Quality you choose
- One slider from lean to full detail, with a triangle estimate before you Break. The pattern stays the same, so a hero asset and its light version break alike.
Real glass materials
- Clear window, Bottle green, Amber bottle, Smoked grey, Frosted and Antique wavy, each with a matching rim material for the broken edges. They render as glass in Cycles and EEVEE.
Double glazing and backed glass
- Two panes break differently behind each other. Glass glued to a backing cracks in place.
Non-Destructive
- The original is never touched. Results go into their own collection with clean names, carry their settings, and Break again rebuilds them from a changed seed or preset.
- Blender 5.2 or newer.
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. Mac and Linux are not supported yet.
- The fracture engine is bundled. Nothing else to install.
