Collection Visibility Keyframer

kaleab in Interface

Collection Visibility Keyframer is a Blender addon that assists with managing visibility settings for collections, particularly in animation projects. It provides tools to handle viewport and render visibility at the collection level, allowing for coordinated control over groups of objects without needing to adjust each one individually.

Key Features:

  • Toggle viewport visibility: Switch the display of objects in the 3D viewport on or off for selected collections, helping to declutter scenes during modeling or layout work.
  • Toggle render visibility: Enable or disable objects from appearing in final renders, useful for optimizing render times or excluding elements from output.
  • Toggle both visibilities: Simultaneously adjust both viewport and render settings to keep them in sync, reducing inconsistencies between preview and final results.
  • Keyframe viewport visibility: Insert keyframes for viewport hiding/showing, enabling timed reveals or hides in animations for effects like pop-ins or scene transitions.
  • Keyframe render visibility: Add keyframes specifically for render visibility, allowing control over what appears in rendered frames without affecting the viewport.
  • Copy viewport to render animation: Transfer existing viewport visibility keyframes to the render channels, ensuring matching behavior between previews and outputs.
  • Clear visibility keyframes: Remove all visibility-related keyframes from collections, resetting objects to a default visible state and clearing animation data.
  • Restore visibility: Delete visibility keyframes at the current frame across the scene, reverting objects to visible if no other keys remain, which helps in cleaning up or troubleshooting animations.

This addon is suited for users working on scenes with many collections, such as in character animation, VFX, or architectural visualization, where managing visibility en masse can improve workflow efficiency. By centralizing these operations in a panel within the Properties editor under the Scene context, it minimizes the need to navigate through the Outliner or Graph Editor for routine tasks. It supports recursive application to child collections for broader control and includes fallback targeting options for flexibility.

Compatible with Blender 4.4 and later versions.
