  This course was a little problematic for me for a few reasons. I wanted to learn how to sketch concepts from this course, and I don't feel like I was actually taught to do that. The creator teaches the basics of grease pencil, theory, and general advice, but I don't feel like there was a project in this course to complete. The pacing was very slow in this course, which is personal preference. Not only that, and no offense to the teacher, but I found the cadence of the teacher's voice to be too slow, too staged, and fake/canned sounding. It felt like the teacher was reading from note cards for the entire course, even when to add pauses for effect. A more organic approach to the course would have been less grating.

  If you want a tutorial for how to get Grease Pencil setup in the way this author likes, how to make brushes, etc, this course will do that in the first couple chapters. This course doesn't lead you through a particular project like "Let's make this type of character" but you get to see the teacher's thought process as he goes through his own project (for another CG Cookie teacher).

  Overall it is not a bad course, but it's not the traditional course from CG Cookie where you get a project when you're done that the teacher has talked you through every decision so that you feel like you can do it on your own next time.
