I'm coming from SketchUp and trying really hard to love this plugin but unfortunately it is full of bugs. I'm running the lastest version (the extension) on 5.2 and find it almost unusable. Snapping is off, extrusion is off (will simply not work most of the times), moving and copying items are mostly off. Being so new to Blender makes it hard to describe these issues in more detail, but even trying to follow along DN Drawings YT clip with the bookcase is impossible because the functions simply do not work as shown in the video.I'm really hoping there will be a stable, usable version soon.

Update: After Dan's reply, I spent more time troubleshooting and realized that several of the problems I described came for approaching Blender too much SketchUp, rather than from Construction Lines itself. I'm still getting used to both Blender and the add-on, but things are working much better now.

Thanks for the purchase and sorry to hear you're having some issues with CL. Please make sure to restart Blender after installing, as this tends to fix most of issues. However, if you still have issues, please contact me via my support link (link on the add-on section in Blender preferences). I'll work with you on any issues.

The new update is great, it fixed all the bugs for me that couldnt get fixed through support!
Its faster and not laggy anymore.

Had my eye on this for some time and snapped it up during the recent sale and was highly impressed with the creator’s immediate response to queries and willingness to consider and implement suggestions. That alone is a five star experience.
If accuracy is required, this is the addon you need. The only thing missing, IMO is not keeping the measurement overlay active when selecting other tools but after corresponding with the creator this is being looked into. However. the empties created in the measurements are persistent and this can be used as reference points with other tools, but it would be perfect if the measurement overlay was also persistent.

I'm an industrial designer and this extension currently lets me use blender without having to relearn everything. It's the only extension that currently offers truly concrete tools directly inspired by sketchup and other CAD tools. The transition is therefore smoother and much more present, as Blender is not a very “user friendly” software for CAD users.

Of course, there are still things to improve, such as compatibility with certain modeling operations performed with Blender's native tools (although my experience is probably biased, given that I'm using version 4.3.2, which is normally not supported).

However, the more I use it, the more I see the potential this extension could have.
That of finally being able to bring a serious, robust CAD workflow to this incredible software!

Very useful. Happy to see where it will go and how it will evolve.
If you have issues just contact Dan (the creator of the add-on).
He is super available to fix any issue. Don't leave a bad review without contacting him first. My issue was solved in a day.

My professional background is in civil engineering. I rarely use Blender in my work but often for private projects. I've always found it a bit tedious to work accurately and to scale with Blender. This addon helps me tremendously with such kind of projects. In addition to the construction lines, my favourites are clearly the object snap and the improved Extrude tool.
