Which Blender versions are supported?
CRT FX supports Blender 5.0 through Blender 5.2 and works with Cycles and Eevee render output.
Does CRT FX appear in final renders?
Yes. Set Render to On before rendering. This connects the CRT stack to Blender's Composite and Viewer outputs.
What does Render: Off do?
It restores the normal compositor output without changing your saved CRT settings.
Can I preview the effect in the viewport?
Yes, when Blender's viewport compositor supports the current scene and effect. Render-only animation remains disabled during normal playback.
Why do animated scanlines and grain not move in the viewport?
Their animation runs only during rendering to keep viewport playback responsive. Enable Render Anim in the Scanlines or Grain section.
What is the difference between Static and Temporal Persistence?
Static mode creates same-frame echoes and works with stills, animation, and direct video. Temporal mode accumulates actual previous animation frames for a moving phosphor trail.
How do I render Temporal Persistence?

Choose PNG or OpenEXR output, enable Temporal mode, and run Blender's normal Render Animation command. Processing starts after the sequence finishes and requires at least two frames.
