Will my .dae files work in tools like SketchUp, game engines or CAD?
Collada is widely supported by many tools, including SketchUp and some game engines, but each application implements the format slightly differently. The addon aims to produce compatible files, but you may need to adjust scale, axis orientation or materials per application
Does the exporter support materials, textures and UV maps?
The addon can export materials and UV data supported by the Collada format and by the target application. Collada stores references to texture files rather than embedding them, so you must keep your texture images in the same relative path or copy them along with the .dae file
Can I export only selected objects instead of the entire scene?
Yes. As long as “Selected Objects Only” is enabled in the export options, the addon will export only what you have selected in the viewport and ignore the rest of the scene. This is useful when you want to send just one asset to another application.
How do I export a .dae file with this addon?
Select the objects you want to export (or leave nothing selected to export the whole scene), then go to File → Export → Collada (.dae) via this addon. Choose a file name and location, adjust the export options in the dialog, and click Export to save your .dae file.
How do I enable or disable the addon later?
Open Edit → Preferences → Add-ons and search for the addon name. Use the checkbox to enable or disable it at any time; Blender will remember your preference for the next sessions
