Recursive Subdivision Modifier

DKNS DSGN in Procedural Generators

A Blender geometry nodes modifier that generates Cinema4D-like recursive subdivision effects used to create cool abstract renders. :)

Inspired by the work of Joey 'Raw&Rendered' Camacho, Midge 'Mantissa' Sinnaeve and others, I have spent considerable time trying to figure out the optimal way of making this effect in Blender with maximum control over the geometry pattern, material distribution and shading randomization.

What you get:

  1. Production-ready Geometry Nodes generator modifier that can be simply dragged and dropped onto an object in Blender, quickly tweaked, textured and rendered.

  2. Full control over the subdivision pattern, instanced objects, principled randomization of materials and shading, as well as wireframe effects with customizable caps and materials. All of which have granular seed sliders allowing for quick iteration.

  3. A custom DKNS_HSL_Randomizer node for the shader editor and pre-set attributes to go with it. Plug-n-play, really.

  4. Comes with a manual in the form of Blender's Text Editor page describing all the features of the modifer and demo materials demonstrating the two attributes used to control the shading.

  5. Fun & renders.

(Tested in Blender 4.3+)
