Fill The Air - God Rays, Volumetric Fog & Gobo Light Beams
1.0.3
Version 1.0.2 was not released separately; everything below is the change since 1.0.1.
FIXED — THE GOBO PATTERNS
- Blinds reported that it was animating and produced an identical frame every time. It is the default pattern, so it was the first thing anyone animated. It was drifting along the axis its own slats run along, which slides a bar along its own length and looks like nothing at all. The slats travel across the beam now.
- Breakup was dead the same way, for a different reason — its animation clock was wired to a value nothing read. The fix is general rather than a patch to one pattern, so any pattern that animates by evolving rather than by drifting now moves.
- City used to re-randomise every window in the frame on a single frame, which read as a flash rather than as motion. It keeps its drift and renders as it always did.
- Palm Fronds came out as a near-flat wash on Blender 5.1 and 5.2 while looking correct on 4.2 and 4.5. Blender 5.0 changed how one of its textures spreads its values and the fronds were being cut from a range that no longer had anything in it. Measured on all four versions rather than corrected by eye on one.
FIXED — FOG DENSITY
- Renaming the fog domain, or the gobo card, stopped the add-on recognising the object as its own. The fit-to-scene measurement then grew around it, read the scene as larger than it is, and thinned every fog preset — quietly, because thin fog looks like fog. Ownership is settled by a tag now instead of by the object's name, and scenes saved before that tag existed still match the way they always did, so nothing that works today changes.
