First Person Kit

rileyb3d in Addons

Can I create a playable game fully within Blender?
Yes. The idea of First Person Kit is to keep you within Blender's familiar interface with our addon, while it does the heavy lifting in creating your playable Godot project.
Does this create a finished game automatically?
Not yet. First Person Kit is a starter kit and production toolset, not a finished game. It gives you the foundation and common systems so you can build your own levels, story, art, sounds, puzzles, and gameplay on top of it.
Can I use my own Blender models?
Yes. The kit is built around using your own Blender scene objects. You tag objects with the included FPK tools so the Godot project knows how to turn them into interactive gameplay elements.
What is new in version 1.3?
Version 1.3 adds collectible audio logs. You can tag an object as an audio log, attach a voice clip and subtitles, let the player collect it, play it in-game, and replay it later from the inventory.
What gameplay systems are included?
The kit currently includes a first-person controller, menus, save/load, inventory, physics objects, inspectable props, dynamic doors, locked doors, collectible items, radios with positional audio, light switches, Blender animation playback, level transitions, interactive look cameras, and audio logs.
What kinds of games is this useful for?
First Person Kit is especially useful for horror games, walking simulators, exploration games, escape rooms, environmental storytelling projects, prototype levels, and cinematic first-person experiences.
Do I need to know how to code?
Basic Godot knowledge is helpful, but the kit is designed to handle many common first-person game systems without starting from scratch. You can tag objects in Blender and use custom properties to turn them into gameplay objects like doors, items, radios, lights, physics props, audio logs, and level transitions.
What version of Godot does it require?
First Person Kit is built for Godot 4.6 or newer.
Is this a Blender addon or a Godot project?
It is both. The download installs as a Blender addon, and the full Godot project template is included inside it. You use Blender to create and tag objects, then open the generated project in Godot to run and build the game.
What is First Person Kit?

First Person Kit is a Blender addon and Godot project template for building first-person games faster. It gives you a ready-to-run Godot 4.6+ starter project with first-person controls, interaction, inventory, menus, save/load, and common gameplay systems already built in.
