The FV4005 Stage II is a British experimental tank destroyer developed during the Cold War, designed to mount a massive 183mm gun on a modified Centurion chassis. Built for extreme long-range anti-tank firepower, it was intended to defeat heavily armored Soviet vehicles with a single devastating shot. Despite its immense firepower, the vehicle suffered from limited armor protection, slow turret handling, and overall experimental limitations, making it a prototype rather than a mass-produced combat vehicle. It remains one of the most iconic “what-if” designs in armored warfare history.
