F.Z. Material Kit V2 – Ultimate Material Manager For Blender
Does this work with EEVEE and Cycles?
Yes. The material sync and cleanup tools work regardless of render engine since they operate on the material data and node tree directly, not on render-specific settings.
Does it work in Edit Mode?
No, the panel is disabled while in Edit Mode. Switch back to Object Mode to use the addon.
How should I name my textures for the Import Materials from Folder feature?
Name them with the format MaterialName_Suffix.png. Supported suffixes are BaseColor (or Albedo), Metallic, Roughness, and Normal. Example: Wood_BaseColor.png, Wood_Roughness.png, Wood_Normal.png.
Will Delete Unused Materials delete materials I want to keep?
No. It only removes materials that have zero users and no Fake User flag set. A confirmation dialog will appear before anything is deleted.
What is the difference between Remove Unused Slots (Active) and Remove Unused Slots (Scene)?
Active only cleans the currently selected object. Scene goes through every mesh object in the scene and removes any material slot that is not assigned to an actual polygon.
What do the Detect Metallic and Detect Roughness checkboxes do?
They control what gets synced when you use any of the Material Sync buttons. When checked, the sync will also transfer the Metallic and Roughness values from the Principled BSDF node to the viewport material. Uncheck them to sync Base Color only.
How do I install it?
In Blender go to Edit → Preferences → Extensions → Install from Disk and select the .zip file. The panel will appear in the 3D Viewport sidebar under the F.Z. Kit tab, and also inside the Material Properties panel.
What Blender versions does this work with?
F.Z. Material Kit v1.1 supports Blender 4.4 through 5.1 and above. It uses the modern Blender Extension system and has been fully tested on Blender 5.1.1.
