Which Blender versions are supported?
Gemgen for Blender supports Blender 4.0 and later, including Blender 5.0. It works on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Can I use gems created with Gemgen in commercial projects?
Absolutely. The meshes you generate are yours to use in any personal or commercial project without restrictions.
How many cut types are included?
Gemgen includes 10 cut types: Round, Cushion, Emerald, Oval, Pear, Marquise, Heart, Trillion, Baguette, and Rose. Each has its own set of adjustable parameters.
Can I animate the gem parameters?
All gem parameters are animatable. You can keyframe cut type, radius, table height, pavilion depth, and all other properties to create animated transitions.
Does changing the cut type reset my parameters?
Yes. When you switch cut types, Gemgen automatically applies the "Good Proportions" for the new cut to give you a great starting point. You can then adjust from there.
What is "Set Good Proportions"?
It's a one-click operator that resets all parameters to jeweler-standard ratios for the current cut type. It's useful when you've been experimenting and want to return to a balanced, realistic starting point.
