Godot Export Preflight

Export Preflight - Godot 4.7 Profile

Stop discovering transfer problems after import

Export Preflight inspects your Blender scene before Godot converts the .blend file through glTF. It identifies structural risks in geometry, materials, textures, UVs, rigging and animation while the source data is still visible and easy to correct.

This is a diagnostic extension, not another export button. It does not apply modifiers, bake animation, rewrite materials, change your Godot project or access the network.

Clear and actionable findings

Every detected issue includes:

  • A stable Rule ID for review and support.
  • A clear status: Partial, Bake Required, Unsupported or Blocking Error.
  • The affected object, material, image, animation or project setting.
  • A plain-language explanation of the problem.
  • A recommended action without automatic destructive changes.
  • An evidence basis connected to Blender glTF and Godot import behavior.

21 checks across seven categories

Export Preflight checks:

  • Project readiness and source file path.
  • Unsupported geometry types.
  • Modifiers and Geometry Nodes.
  • Material output and PBR compatibility.
  • Procedural materials and double-sided rendering.
  • Missing external textures.
  • Missing or excessive UV sets.
  • Normal-map tangent requirements.
  • Missing, excessive or non-normalized skin weights.
  • Drivers and constraints.
  • Animation playback ranges.

Flexible scan scope

Choose exactly what you want to inspect:

  • Selected Objects
  • Active Collection
  • Visible Scene

Select any result and press Focus Finding to jump directly to the affected object or an object using the referenced material.

Exportable reports

Export the latest scan results as:

  • JSON for tools, automation and source control.
  • Markdown for human review and team communication.

Reports include the target profile, source path, scanned object count, status summary and complete actionable findings.

Built for source safety

  • Read-only scan engine.
  • No automatic fixes.
  • No telemetry.
  • No network access.
  • No automatic baking, exporting, saving, renaming or deletion.
  • Files are created only when you explicitly export a report.

Compatibility

  • Blender 4.2 through 5.2.
  • Verified with Blender 4.2.23 LTS and Blender 5.2.1 LTS on Windows 64-bit.
  • Target profile: Godot 4.7.x direct .blend import.
  • Verified integration with Godot 4.7.2 stable.

macOS and Linux are not claimed as tested in version 1.0.

Included

  • Installable Blender Extension ZIP.
  • Demonstration .blend scene.
  • Example JSON and Markdown reports.
  • Complete English user guide.
  • Rule Reference with all supported checks.
  • Reproducible evidence catalog.
  • Compatibility and troubleshooting notes.

Important scope note

A Pass means that the active rule set found no known structural transfer risk. It does not guarantee pixel-perfect visual parity, runtime performance, renderer behavior or compatibility with every custom shader and glTF extension.

Always verify the imported result inside the real Godot project.

Export Preflight is an independent workflow tool. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Godot Foundation or Blender Foundation. No third-party application is included.
