  This model is beautifully constructed and the modeler made smart choices for grouping, naming and rigging the different parts of the model. Looks great in Eevee and Cycles.

  Beautiful piano, poorly packaged, and unfriendly rig.
  There's no armature, and everything is "rigged" through restrictive over-limiting constrains between objects.

  The constrained-objects rig means that an animation using this rig will register 88 different action timeline data tracks, if you're animating all the keys for example, rather than a single track with 88 channels if an armature were used.

  The packaging is outdated, which is understandable seen as this is a v2.7 asset, but besides the lack of collections, all of the geometry and meshes in this asset has non-uniform scale and unapplied location or rotation. Which means that if you were to move some things outside of what the control panels allows you to, you couldn't just use ALT-G or ALT-R to return to the "normal" state, because the asset doesn't come with a "normal" state.

  I do wish the author took the time to name the pitch-related elements (keys, hammers, mutes) correctly. There's nothing worse when working with a musical instrument rig than having to go look at which bone is which number before picking it in a list, when you already have a codified nomenclature for what these things are called.

  The model itself, outside of some clipping here and there, is gorgeous. If you're ready to invest into some re-rigging and re-packaging, and the model pleases you, by all means get it and work on it.
  If you want a ready-to-animate-with piano rig in 2025, I suggest you look somewhere else.
