Hay, Straw & Thatch Toolkit | PBR Textures & Blender Procedural Assets
How do I export the assets to Unreal Engine, Unity or another destination?
Keep an editable original, duplicate the finished procedural asset, realise the required instances, apply or convert the duplicate to a mesh, then verify materials, alpha handling, normals, scale and evaluated geometry for the destination. Target-specific optimisation remains necessary.
Can the hay be fitted to a custom shape?
Yes. Edit or scale the low-complexity support mesh before tuning the procedural scatter. The included wagon composition demonstrates how a hay form can be shaped to fit another object.
Are the example compositions ready to render?
The example compositions are included to demonstrate practical uses, but camera and light datablocks are not included. Set up the camera, lighting and final render settings for your own scene.
Are all texture maps 2K?
No. The package contains 45 maps at 2048 × 2048 and 17 maps at 1024 × 1024. Every supplied normal and height map is 2048 × 2048 in 16-bit format.
Which Blender version and renderer are supported?
The project is from the Blender 5.1 era and has been verified in Blender 5.2 LTS with Cycles. Earlier Blender versions have not been tested.
What files are included?
One Blender project file plus 62 standalone PNG maps organised into 11 PBR texture sets. The Blender materials use packed images, while the standalone maps are available for custom material workflows.
Is this only a shader?
No. The pack also includes editable support forms, alpha-card scatter sources, trims, ground dressing, roof treatments, prepared examples and the Scatter on Surface Geometry Nodes workflow.
