  I have been using this addon because I needed to make text alphas to use as stencils for my texturing workflow in Blender. This has helped a lot. I think it should come along with Image Editor+ in a single addon though. Even if the addon was a bit more expensive.

  A nice addition to the "Image Editor Plus" plugin. Before when placing a text in my texture, I would have to open up gimp, place the text there and keep saving and updating the texture just to see the result over and over, a tool like this should be in everyone's tool shelf.
