Wow... it REALLY does increase the speed by 2x! I My scenes... usually 5-20 vehicles lots stuff like furniture and lights. scnee was rendered with Highest Qualtity in 2K on an 3080 i9 10th 64GB 3200RAM...took just 5 minutes plus it feels more stable. Would be nice if they add a preset save button in the render scene tab so you could save different presets ;-)

Wow, I just rerendered an archviz scene I did yesterday that originally took about 5 minutes (1500 samples, 1500x1200 resolution, RTX 3080) and just bought k-cycles today and it took 2 minutes at same settings except 2000 samples. Will have to do more testing as this is my first initial test but its good so far. Price is very reasonable.

"users can use upgrade code "upgrade2024" (Extra 25% off) discount", I know that at this moment it already has a discount, but does this not apply to previous purchases? I have the 2023 version and that extra discount was not applied as the publication says.

It is not a K-Cycles issue Blender Market disables coupon codes for all products during their sales events.

K-Cycles has it's own sales a few time a year usually with new blender releases in which upgrade coupon will give the customers additional discount. Emails will be send to all customers to take advantage of this special sales.

It really speeds up the viewport, and also quality of renders. The effects are very nice too. Before updates were regular, but now there hasn't been an update for over a month. I really hope the project isn't dying like so many other Blender add-ons. It would be nice if it got into the main fork of Blender though. I think it has a place there.

K-Cycles project is quite active. The new updates are up now. This update took a little longer due the heavy development of the just release new major feature "Ultra Lighting". The updates should go back to normal of every 2-4 weeks.

I'll give this a 4 star rating because while it does do as advertised, I am having trouble with one particular interior scene where K-cycles will crash after starting to render one tile while in regular blender it renders the whole scene fine. I even turned gpu boost to non. Optimized the scene the best I could by reducing subdivisions and vertices where I can but it still crashes. Also, do you have a discord or a better place to report problems?

Scenes crashing while rendering can have a number of causes like e.g. configuration, settings, or memory issue. I have an install guide with a troubleshooting section. The best is to contact me through blender market "Ask a Question" share the problem scene and will investigate to find a resolution.

Viewport performance is excellent, and I'm happy with the changes to the render panel to make setting up a render more user friendly.

My main issue with K-Cycles is the user experience when it comes to actually rendering out a scene. I'm sure for professional artists this is may not be as much of a concern, but for the average hobbyist who goes through a trial and error process on low to upper-mid range consumer level hardware, the lack of render previews is a major, major downside. K-Cycles does not update the render preview as frequently as the core version of Cycles (which updates every sample).

K-Cycles displays a render preview every X number of samples (64, 320, 640...). This is not related to the number of samples the user defines. What this means is you won't see ANY of your render until it's finished (if using 64 or fewer samples), or you will only see the 64 samples preview if using less than 320 samples, etc.

This effectively neuters one of the defining advantages of progressive refining - the ability to set an arbitrarily high sample count and ending the render early once it's at a satisfactory level, then optionally using that as your baseline sample count for future renders in the same scene.

On a personal level, I would rate this product at a 3/5. It's a solid improvement to the CyclesX experience when working in the viewport, but I find myself doing my initial renders in the core version of CyclesX due to the reasons mentioned above. When rendering heavier scenes in K-Cycles I often find myself wondering if Blender has crashed, simply due to how long it has been since the render preview has updated.

However, this is ultimately nothing more than a nitpick for many users, and I have spoken to Eric who seems potentially open to improving this aspect of K-Cycles in future versions. For that reason, to be fair to the creator, I'm officially rating at a 4/5.

It's priced fairly, and it does what it advertises. I would happily rate 5/5 if customers could manually define our own update preview intervals, or if this optimization could be optionally disabled entirely and the core CyclesX method of update previews be used instead.

I have change render preview updates, so it is time based. First update comes quickly and updates at the beginning come more often to allow easy cancellation. This should resolve your criticism about K-Cycles render preview updates. Thanks for your comments.

So far I'm finding this to be fantastic and works exactly as advertised! The built-in lens flares was something I wasn't expecting but LOVE!

Pretty solid product but beware. There are frequent crashes when the GPU Memory is used. Highly recommend it only if you have above average PC with at least 16GP RAM or 32GP RAM.

The default K-Cycles will use more GPU memory. In large scenes where their is not enough GPU memory, can easily reduce the GPU memory to same or less than vanilla blender by just changing the K-Cycles GPU Boost to "Low" or "None". It will avoid crashes due to GPU memory compare to vanilla blender.
I have not have reports of crashes. Could have other configuration issues. I do give support with problem scene and will investigate to resolve the issue.

Impressed with the speed and the multitude of settings that can be adjusted. The denoiser is excellent too. It really does help get those renders out more quickly. I must say though, I am disappointed that past customers need to pay to move to the new 2022 version. I understand that this software takes a lot of upkeep by the developer, but in a climate where nearly every other main Blendermarket product offers free upgrades for life, I feel a little like I've been cheated. Especially since it isn't expressly stated on the product page (at least that I am aware of) that there is only a year worth of upgrades. In my case, and I know not everyone is in the same boat, I would have been happier paying more upfront and getting updates as long as the developer continues to work on the product, than paying for each successive upgrade.

The product page on the right where the product item is selected states "Includes stable release, beta and the alpha Blender updates for all of 2022"
In addition the FAQ states "Regular K-Cycles RTX updates for Blender stable release and alpha version through the end of 2022".

K-Cycles is custom build not an addon. I believe K-Cycles is the only custom build in Blender Market. It requires a lot more work to update and developed with different builds for every blender version and platform plus the addition of new features.

Their is upgrade discount for previous K-Cycles users.
