MHD-Int Kepler-16 — The Circumbinary "Tatooine" Planet at True Scale
Where do the numbers come from?
Doyle et al. 2011 (Science 333, 1602) and Triaud et al. 2022 (BEBOP III). Full list in CREDITS.md.
Does it work with EEVEE?
It has only been tested with Cycles. Materials and lighting were tuned for Cycles.
Can I use the renders commercially?
Yes. Images, animations and scenes you create are yours, including for commercial projects. The script itself is GPL-3.0-or-later.
Do I need an add-on?
No. Everything is procedural and generated by the included script; no add-on and no external textures are required.
What is the light-curve image?
A synthetic light curve computed from the model, not Kepler data. It is labelled as such.
Is it really at true scale?
Yes, by default. Stars, planet and orbits use their real sizes; the views are framed so everything stays visible.
Is this the real Kepler-16?
The masses, radii and orbits are the published ones (Doyle et al. 2011). The starting phases are chosen for demonstration, so the dates of the eclipses in the animation are not the real ones.
