  Addon with a lot of potential, and great default assets to use. Painful to install however and there's no possibility to modify the default cutters and inserts in the pro mode (or maybe I haven't found the proper way ?)
  Still very useful, good work :)

  Install is easy. Just drag/drop the "kitops" folder in your addons. That's it. If you need more help, please read the Install instructions in the manual: http://bit.ly/KitOpsManual

  Of course it is easy and possible to edit the default cutters or any other INSERTS in Pro mode. Again, see the Pro Factory manual: http://bit.ly/KitOpsFactory

  Please consider using one of our 5 support channels (Discord, BA, Gumroad Support, BM support and/or our website support form) or tweet us for help before writing a 3 star review with such little knowledge of how to use our product.

  Open to change my review if my license concerns are checked. However, at this time, I think legally I can't use any of the prepacked inserts.

  The Product is great, but "License Royalty Free" by default, I'm pretty sure this is a license change. "Kit Ops Pro: Asset / Kit bashing Addon" is also a change as far as I remember because "Kit Ops Pro" was like a addon and "Asset" wasn't in the title. Assets usually have License Royalty Free as they are ready to use products. However, I was using this product as a way to create my own blender creations. So here's the license and here are my concerns.

  “#1 The Royalty Free license grants you, the purchaser, the ability to make use of the purchased product for personal, educational, or commercial purposes as long as those purposes do not violate any of the following:

  #2 You may not resell, redistribute, or repackage the purchased product without explicit permission from the original author

  #3 You may not use the purchased product in a logo, watermark, or trademark of any kind

  Exception: shader, material, and texture products are exempt from this rule. These products are much the same as colors, and such are a secondary meaning and may be used as part of a logo, watermark, or trademark. “

  USECASE 1: Can I make something with the pre-made inserts and give it to one of my teammates for a project? I got bought this for a game project to make level assets, given that, will every team member now have to buy their own license.

  USECASE 2: Can people buy a game I make using inserts that come with this add-on?

  USECASE 3: Can I make game assets and sell them on game asset stores using the prepackaged inserts?

  USECASE 4: I use the assets to make an original logo/design, can I do use it because it is derivative work.

  The confusion here comes from is “Kit Ops Pro Addon” a plug-in I bought to which derivative work is 100% mine, or is it like “Assets” I bought to which the assets whereas derivative work is not mine and has limited use. I suppose given you can use the addon to make your own “inserts”, I may just have to do that to avoid any legal confusions.

  Hi Mr. Titlepending,

  The licence is an unusual case as Blender Market only gives us a few checkboxes, and this product comprises some special use issues.

  Had you contacted me through support, I would have put your mind at ease in writing so that whatever objects you create using the included KIT OPS INSERTs would have been yours to sell or do whatever you like with OTHER than selling the exact same asset as a kitbashing asset.i hope this clears up this issue.

  I wouldn’t have bought it if I knew it was going to be abandoned. Now the other related plugins I purchased are useless as well. This is incredibly disappointing.

  Back in Feb 2024 I purchased the addon, it looked really cool, especially the customable feature where you can make your own custom kitbash. However as soon as I installed the the addon and tried it slows Blender down and it made its UI changes (like Game tab appears above out of nowhere) and the custom kitbash ability of the addon extremely Clumsy. I already own dozens of addon and none of them behaved like that, NONE, ZERO! Then I realized later that this addon advertising the pre-made kitbash from thier website, like not only the addon is broke it also urging the user to buy thier kitbash, and they are not cheap.
  The addon is less broken when the user buys thier pre-made kitbash, apparently, as if it was designed for that exclusively to generate more profite faster.

  So in conclusion I decided to get a refund but I wasn't planing to drop any negative review about the addon because nobody is perfect.
  Since it was my first bad experince of Blender addon I could make it slide out, no problem.
  However, after contacting the owner of the addon to get a refund, I was very nice and respectful from my side, and he, with all fairness, he tried to help me to find a solution for that mess but there was no way, the addon is broken.
  So eventually we agreed upon a refund, here's why I decided to make this one star review. Before he was making the refund he started being cheeky with me by blaming me for not knowing how to use the addon, like "the addon is NOT broken it is me who do not know how to us it" lol. The audacity of him.

  Ok then, I didn't want to make this review but you made me, enjoy :)

  We've had over 100,000 downloads of KIT OPS. I am sorry you were not able to make it work. My guess it was a configuration issue. Perhaps you had too many add-ons or installed it incorrectly.

  The latest version is also significantly faster than previous versions.

  We are always available to help and we have a Discord server where many users are active and help as well. I'm surprised you spent time penning a poor review 11 months after we refunded your money with no questions asked.

  all your addons add up to $559!!! it's really disappointing to see you selling 20 kpacks costing $20 each. with blender growing you would think your product would last, but i predict we'll see more paywalls in the future from you. learn to use blender people. imo Simple Tabs is the only useful addon u have and its free.

  I am sorry you feel that way. I launched KIT OPS Pro 6 years ago. Since then we have created over 30 upgrades and have never charged for them a single time. I believe charging $10 for a complete rewrite of the engine after 6 years is appropriate. If you do not think so then don't upgrade. You can still use your old version in all Blender versions prior to 4.2. Development and marketing for this product alone costs thousands of dollars each month. We do our best to improve it and keep it current with the latest Blender versions. We work to keep the documentation and videos up to date and provide a discord where I strive to help people with problems and provide support.
