This setup lets you simulate LiDAR-style point scans directly in Blender with full control over how the scan behaves and how the points are displayed. It’s built entirely in Geometry Nodes, so you can drop it into any scene and start generating point-cloud-like results right away.
You can scan objects from a plane or point, adjust resolution, ray length, randomness, and even change how the points are colored based on height or distance. The system can render clean, uniform scans or noisy, imperfect ones if you want something closer to real hardware behavior.
Everything is non-destructive, easy to tweak, and designed so you can quickly experiment.
