Where to Find Light Hierarchy
After installation, Light Hierarchy can be accessed from:
3D Viewport → N Panel → Light Hierarchy
The add-on also provides quick-access controls inside Render Properties.
Interface
The main interface is divided into five sections:
Lights
Manage and organize the Light Objects used by your scene.
Emission
Detect and manage compatible emissive materials used in the scene.
Environment
Access World, HDRI and environment-related lighting controls.
Auto
Use lighting assistance tools such as Balance Lights, Auto Exposure and the One-Click Assistant.
Presets
Save and reuse compatible lighting configurations between projects.
Lights
Light Hierarchy supports Blender light types such as:
- Point
- Area
- Spot
- Sun
Depending on the selected light, you can access compatible properties such as:
- Power
- Exposure
- Color
- Size / Radius
- Spot settings
- Sun settings
- Viewport visibility
- Render visibility
- Transform controls
You can also search, filter and organize your scene lights for a cleaner workflow.
Solo
Use Solo to temporarily isolate the contribution of a light while evaluating your scene.
This makes it easier to understand how individual lights affect the final lighting setup.
Emissive Materials
The Emission section detects compatible emissive materials actively used by the scene.
Supported workflows include compatible emission setups based on:
- Principled BSDF Emission
- Emission Shader
The interface allows you to locate and manage emissive lighting without manually searching through every material.
World & HDRI
The Environment section provides centralized access to supported World lighting controls.
Depending on the current scene setup, available controls may include:
- World Strength
- World Color
- HDRI-related controls
- Environment Texture information
- Sky settings
- Exposure
- Color Management
- White Balance
Important: Light Hierarchy manages the environment setup already used by your Blender project. An HDRI image library is not included with the add-on.
Balance Lights
Balance Lights helps create a more controlled starting point between compatible lights in the scene.
It is designed as a workflow assistant and does not replace manual artistic lighting decisions.
Auto Exposure
Auto Exposure analyzes the scene to help calculate a practical exposure starting point.
Use the result as a foundation and adjust it manually according to the artistic requirements of your render.
One-Click Assistant
The One-Click Assistant combines lighting assistance tools into a simplified workflow.
It is designed to provide a useful starting point, especially when quickly evaluating a scene.
It does not replace artistic lighting decisions.
18% Gray Card
Light Hierarchy includes an 18% Gray Card workflow that can be used as a neutral reference when evaluating exposure and white balance.
A valid camera may be required depending on the operation.
Presets
The Preset system allows compatible lighting configurations to be saved and reused.
Depending on the selected options, presets may include supported information such as:
- Lights
- Positions
- Light properties
- Light Hierarchy folders
- Compatible emissive settings
- World / HDRI / Sky settings
- Color Management
- Exposure
When applying a preset, review the available options before changing the current scene.
Language
Light Hierarchy includes:
- English
- Português do Brasil
The Auto language option can follow the Blender language configuration where supported.
