Love this! really handy. Could you get this working under Octane Render?(It's free!) that would be great!

Also it's probably my Blender setup but when I hit tab I get a blank pie menu? Also is there a way to jump into Adjust modes? So straight into Orbit mode or straight into Reflect mode before the tool activates, if I place a light in reflect mode then want to go into Orbit mode it's still in reflect mode and the light needs replacement. Tell me to RTFM if I need to :)

Thank you! Octane support is on the list for development. TAB seems to conflict with other addons—check your keymap settings. You can access modes directly by hitting the corresponding number, without needing to hit TAB first. Write me if you need more details!

This is a very good addon for managing your lights and giving you quick and easy controls to get exactly the sort of look that you want for a scene. There are, however, a few issues that I feel need to be pointed out and one of them is very recent and more serious.

The first issue is that this addon adds numerous hotkeys to help manage/add lights but some of these hotkeys clash with Blender's default hotkey scheme, causing double functions to occur or for Blender's hotkey's to no longer be functional. Off the top of my head is F9 which, by default, is used to recall Blender's context menu after certain operations. Light Wrangler assigns a new function to F9 and it clashes with Blender, so on every new install I have to go into Light Wrangler's settings and disable a bunch of hotkeys.

Secondly, I just received an email saying that the new versions of Light Wrangler will be removing the included assets (gobos, HDRI's, etc) as it moves to a cloud download-as-needed service. I strongly disagree with having my addons require both an internet connection and also trust in the developer that said online service will continue to be available. The email states that if I don't like this change that I can just "not update" and, far as I can tell, legacy versions are no longer available. This feels like a kick in the crotch for those of us that have been with this addon for a while and I am absolutely not on board with this change.

Hi Quinn, thank you for the kind words about the addon and for taking the time to share your concerns. I want to address both points.

Hotkeys: You're right that the F9 key overlaps with Blender's default. All hotkeys are fully configurable in the addon preferences, and your customizations should persist across updates, so you only need to change it once.

Cloud-based assets: I completely understand the concern about relying on an online service. A few important clarifications: the addon works fully offline, all core functionality, every feature, works without an internet connection. The only thing that requires connectivity is downloading new (awesome) textures, similar to how you'd download HDRIs from PolyHaven or textures from any other library. The reason for the change is that instead of staying with a fairly limited collection of assets, I decided to transform it into an ever-growing collection with a great variety of animated and still textures.

If you already own a previous version, you still have access to all the bundled assets from that version and can continue using them with v4 by pointing the addon to your local texture folders — no internet needed.

I'd genuinely welcome you on my Discord server or via email to discuss these concerns further. User feedback directly shapes development.
